Dawn Gorman believes poetry should be everywhere - puts it on beermats, uses it to
work with people with memory loss, facilitates writing workshops, organises poetry
events and runs international poetry competitions. She is widely published, and has
performed in New York, Paris, London - and lots of smaller places in between.

Winter Wonderland - poetry performance

29th November 2018, 6:45pm - 7:15pm, Valentine Clays, Valentine Way, Stoke-on-Trent ST4 2FJ

In collaboration with Liz Watts and Valentine Clays, I performed a short set of winter poems to an audience of non-poets - mums and dads who had come to the gallery to hear their children sing Christmas carols - when the children were whisked away to do clay-based activities, I was introduced... always a tough one, performing to non-poetry people, and especially so at this event, because the audience weren't really expecting it, but it actually went down brilliantly (I love a challenge!!) and they were a great audience.
